1/ His full name is Claude Oscar Monet.

2/ He was born on November 14, 1840 in Paris.

3/ He was a famous French artist known for impressionism.

4/ He made the term “Impressionist” by painting an impressionist picture called Impression, Sunrise.

5/ He tried to kill himself in 1868, but failed.

6/He started to have vision problems in 1907.

7/ In 1923, Monet needed eye surgery because he was nearly blind.

8/ From 1916 – 1926 he worked on 12 large canvases called The Water Lilies.

9/ He had lung cancer in 1926, but was still painting.

10/ He died on December 5th, and was buried at Giverny.
