Before I dive into my top ten movies of the year, let me give you a little bit of background information: I am a HUGE movie fan. I watch about 10 movies a month and a movie has to be awfully bad for me not to like it.
If a movie makes me laugh, cry, cringe, scream or hide my eyes behind my hand palms, then I will appreciate the effort and talk about it 24/7 with family members and close friends.
With that being said, you’ll find 10 movies in the list below, movies that made me experience all the emotions above. It wasn’t easy to pick 10 out of about 110 movies I’ve watched this year. But I DID IT after all and I hope you enjoy my rant.
Make sure to share some of your favorite movies in the comments below or in my facebook page.
Guns, explosions, New York and Jason Statham being Jason Statham… What else could you possibly ask for ?
2. Life of Pi
Everybody already knows this: Something magical occurs every time americans and indians work together *Cough* Slumdog Millionaire *Cough* and this movie is no exception to that rule.
I named by teddy bear after Ted. The end.
4. Silver Linings Playbook
These two are my Favourite with a capital F: Crazy, messed up, most flawed characters I’ve ever seen !
5. Where do we go now ?
This is a mesmersing musical comedy about lebanese women trying to keep the peace in an isolated village populated by equal numbers of Muslims and Christians… I only have respect and admiration for the beautiful writer, actress and director Nadine Labaki.
6. The Avengers
If evil decides to come to Earth, I’m sure Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk will be there to defend us all with their high muscle tone *Sigh* In my wildest, biggest dreams maybe 😀 This movie was a fun, entertaining and satisfying superhero spectacle. I could go on and on about how amazing it was. However, I wish Wolverine was part of it too… I’m just saying !
Skyfall was PERFECTO… That’s the first word that came to my mind ! James Bond is still the coolest franchise character ever created. Have I mentioned the british accent ?
8. The Hunger Games
To make a long story short: I’m a HUGE fan. I’ve read the series, I’ve watched the movie 3 times and I used a quote from the movie about twice a day for little longer than a month. Will I see the next one ? Absolutely.
Ben Affleck has always been in my top 100 best actors in Hollywood list *Yes, I do have one* and in this movie, -regardless of the beautiful face he’s been blessed with- he looked, talked and acted like he belongs in it. One thing is for sure, I’ll definitely be crossing my fingers for the Oscars.
10. The Amazing Spiderman
Allow me to put this way: I am a lifelong spiderman fan and Andrew Garfield has done a perfect job as the new Peter Parker. This movie has genuinely surpassed all of my expectations.
