Here are 10 suggestions for realistic, attainable resolutions that you might actually enjoy keeping during 2012:

1/ Cut your stress :

A little pressure now and again won’t kill us; in fact, short bouts of stress give us an energy boost. But if stress is chronic, it can increase your risk of insomnia, depression, obesity and heart disease.

So if stress is an exam, an event or even a person… CUT IT OFF YOUR LIFE… Period !

You deserve HAPPINESS and nothing less than that !

2/ Enjoy Life more :

Given our hectic, stressful lifestyles, it is no wonder that « enjoying life more » has become a popular resolution in recent years. It’s an important step to a happier and healthier you ! Go watch a movie with friends, get some coffee Vs Ice Cream with your little sister/brother, hit the library for some new books, sing out loud in your room but don’t tell your parents or neighbors I told you so !

3/ Volunteer :

Volunteer your time to charity and do something for your community and others. Our happiness increases when we help others and happiness is good for your health. It is proven now that positive emotions can make people more resilient and resourceful.

It’s easy: Tell some friends and go to the nearest Organisation/Association and spend an hour or two with some kids… To me it’s a life changing experience EVERY SINGLE TIME !

4/ Get more Sleep :

You probably already know that a good night’s rest can do wonders for your mood and appearence. Well, it is more beneficial to your health than you might realize and crucial for strengthening memories.

So take a nap—and don’t feel guilty about it.

5/ Eat more fruits and vegetables:

As simple as it sounds, it is a simple yet highly effective New Year’s resolution that could really boost your day-to-day health. Try to eat at least five portions of fruit and veg each day to keep your body energised with nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

6/ Quit Smoking :

Even if you’ve tried to quit before and failed, don’t let it get you down. On average, smokers try about four times before they quit for good. Start enjoying the rest of your smoke-free life !
